  4. About the scheme
  5. ----------------
  6. The supported Shareware scheme was started by Joe Connor in 1993 to 
  7. encourage authors to produce and support English language versions of 
  8. their software AND to encourage UK users to register 'foreign' software. 
  9. Recently the scheme was re-launched as InterActive. With currently over 
  10. 1650 registrations the scheme has established the proven benefits of local 
  11. support, which include:
  12.  
  13. - Key to remove features reserved for registered users available
  14. - Local telephone, post and Email support
  15. - Free update service
  16. - No hassle handling foreign currency
  17. - Labelled Master disk and registration letter
  18. - ST-Guide on-line hypertext help (some software)
  19. - Other software (dependent on disk space)
  20.  
  21. Registration fees are set to cover the currency handling, stationary, 
  22. media and postage costs incurred in mailing out master disks and providing 
  23. support.
  24. Although primarily a UK support scheme everyone is welcome to register via 
  25. InterActive as an alternative to registering directly with the author/s.

  83. How to register from inside the UK
  84. ----------------------------------
  85. 1) Use the included ORDER_FM.TXT to select the required software
  86. 2) Make sure your name and address is included and *legible*!
  87. 3) Make cheques/POs payable to InterActive for the total amount
  88. 4) Send the completed order form and payment to InterActive
  89.  
  90. Additionally from outside the UK
  91. --------------------------------
  92. - Add £1 to your order total to cover postage
  93. - Make certain payment is *in Sterling* drawn on a *UK* bank address
  94.   The following methods are known to work:
  95.   -Bank draft/cheque
  96.   -Eurocheque
  97.   -International Post Office cheque payable *in Sterling*
  98.   -Cash! Sterling, Dollars and DMs are fine -but at your own risk!

  100. Country specific information
  101. ----------------------------
  102. Canada:    Canadian Post Office money orders made out in *Sterling* are 
  103.            perfect and inexpensive!
  104. Australia: Please visit your Post Office and get a money order made out in 
  105. and NZ     *Sterling*.
  106. France:    For some reason I'm getting a number of local cheques (i.e. 
  107.            written in Sterling but drawn on a french bank address.
  108.            I can accept these but they cost £5 to negoiate so you must add 
  109.            an extra £5 to your order total.
  110. Europe:    In general Post Office money orders or Eurocheques are the best 
  111.            way to pay.
  112. USA:       What a nightmare! Can I suggest a day trip to a Canadian post 
  113.            office? I've seen everything from Amex travellers cheques (add 
  114.            £5 to order total), local cheques (no can do), cash (fine -but 
  115.            at your own risk). An International money order (add £5 to 
  116.            order total) made out in Sterling drawn on a UK banking address 
  117.            is currently the best solution.

  133. postage (or IRC) and an unlabelled double sided floppy disk. Please state

  141. Due to the number of people taking advantage of the service and my other 
  142. commitments as editor of Atari Computing I can't always reply as quickly 
  143. as I'd like to. Often I'm waiting for a new version or simply too busy 
  144. earning a living so please be patient!

  164. archives but because minor updates to the English language version are 
  165. sometimes made without changing the version number hensa and 42BBS are the
